The intellectual and artistic spirit that buzzed throughout the neighborhood inpsired many great French authors like Simone de Beauvoir and Sartre. The intellectual, literary, and artistic spirit that buzzed throughout Saint-Germain-des-Prés, as well as its 17th century architecture, has been preserved well over the last two centuries.
